About the Institute

Dharanidhar University, located in Keonjhar, Odisha, is a state public university established on February 12, 2023. It evolved from the former Dharanidhar Autonomous College, which was originally founded in 1957 as Keonjhar Science College. The university is named after the revolutionary leader Dharanidhar Naik and is situated on a 154-acre campus.

  • Dharanidhar University has established a Research & Development Cell to promote scholarship and motivate faculty members and young scholars to explore new and cutting-edge areas of research. The cell aims to facilitate research activities, foster collaboration between academia and industry, and initiate students into research endeavors.

4. Historical Legacy:

  • The institution's journey began in 1957 as Keonjhar Science College, later renamed Keonjhar College in 1967. It was named Dharanidhar College in 1983–84 and granted autonomous status in 2004. The college was accredited with a B++ grade by NAAC in 2006 and achieved university status in 2023.

5. Infrastructure & Campus:

  • The university operates on a 71-acre campus divided into North and South campuses. Facilities include laboratories, a central library, audio-visual labs, and a playground.

6. Admissions:

  • Undergraduate Programs: Admissions are based on merit, considering marks obtained in the 12th board examinations.

  • Postgraduate Programs: Admissions are conducted through the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) and academic performance at the undergraduate level.
