Established in 1946, Narasingh Choudhury Autonomous College (NCAC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious government colleges in Odisha. Named after its principal donor, Ray Bahadur Choudhury Narasingh Mohapatra, the college has been a cornerstone of higher education in the region. Affiliated with Utkal University, NCAC was granted autonomous status in the academic session 1999–2000 by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The college is accredited with a B+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
